Crossways is a team of six students participating in an organizational behavior class at Harvard University. The team consists of students located geographically on opposite corners of the globe – our team hails from Canada, Denmark, United States and the United Kingdom. We function across both time zones and borders which lends itself to our team slogan:
“Hands across the water, heads across the sky.”
The team was formed in January 2009 at the beginning of the Spring Semester and have been working collaboratively ever since. Over the past four months, the team has worked together on numerous group assignments. We have created a team name (Crossways), designed a logo (featured above), established our identity as a working unit and through combining our skills have tackled some challenging tasks. We have given class presentations, recorded and mercilessly edited educational videos, discussed cultural differences and even had the pleasure of being stranded in a scorching desert with limited supplies through a simulated team work exercise.
We are now working on our fourth and final assignment of this semester. This is our most important assignment where we get to raise money for a charitable cause and make a significant contribution to society. Ultimately, is it more important important to us than a class assignment, it is a personal mission for us to raise funds for a cause that we believe in. Our goal is to accomplish great things, benefit the recipients and importantly make a difference.
In our next blog post, we will disuss our assignment. In the mean time, enjoy the ‘Halloween’ version of our team logo below.
